Knees Over Toes?!?

Have you been taught to keep your knees behind your toes when working out? We did too! Until we recently when we discovered the “Knees Over Toes Guy.” We came across his Instagram just a few months ago and found his videos to be both informative and eye opening. Since then, we have been educating ourselves and our clients on some of his techniques. See the video below on how to fix your knee pain.

Have you ever heard of voodoo flossing? The Voodoo Floss Band is an essential performance tool and should be a staple in the gym bag of every athlete looking to improve range, restore joint mechanics, or unglue matted down or previously injured tissue. Compression tack and flossing (Voodoo Flossing) works on many levels; including re-perfusing tissues that have become stiff or gone cold after injury, and by compressing swelling out of tissues and joints.

Benefits of Voodoo Flossing:

  • Increase mobility: muscle flossing is a form of soft tissue mobilization/manipulation that results in myofascial release. Because pressure is created during the compression muscles and adhesions are broken down throughout the active moments thus resulting in improved muscle mobility and increased range of motion
  • Accelerates Recovery: while the floss is being used, blood flow is restricted, once the band is removed blood flow rushes to the area, enriching the area with oxygen and nutrients — this is known as reactive hyperemia.
