This Month’s Resources
What is the EWG?
The Environmental Working Group works to protect our environmental health by changing industry standards. Lisa Bronner calls them the “Consumer Reports of green living.” They are an independent third-party research organization that keeps tabs on pretty much anything that might affect the health and wellbeing of a consumer. They cover such topics as cosmetics, food, cleaning products, laws and policies, environmental issues, water quality and more. You can download their app today and begin your journey to help you navigate this complicated world and make safer choices, Scan a product. Review its rating. Pick the better choice.
Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies
If you love tahini and you love chocolate chip cookies, this is a must try recipe! “These chocolate chip cookies are crispy on the outside with a perfectly thick, chewy and chocolate-filled interior. The nutty flavor of the tahini amplifies the chocolate, giving these cookies the ultimate flavor.”
Revisiting Yoga Sutras Once Again…
As I revisit the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, I wanted to share Sutra 2.42 which deals with Santosha (one of the five Niyamas, known as contentment). It states: “By contentment, supreme joy is gained. As a result of contentment, one gains supreme joy. Here we should understand the difference between contentment and satisfaction. Contentment means just to be as we are without going to outside things for our happiness. If something comes, we let it come. If not, it doesn’t matter. Contentment means neither to like nor dislike.” In a nutshell, the Yoga Sutras (or threads) of Patanjali is a collection of short verses that serve as a guide to attain wisdom and self-realization through yoga.
